Wine Barrel Stave

Takahē Pair

The South Island Takahē is a flightless bird indigenous to New Zealand.

I had the wonderul opportunity to observe this endangered bird at the Auckland zoo. The Takahē was bathing in a small pond.  Such a precious memory.

I have created this piece on a French oak wine barrel stave.

For this piece I have used Acrylic paint and finished with a Satin Varnish.

For interior display only.

Approximately 60 cm long x 8 cm wide x 2.5 thickness.
