Guardian Of The Bay

New Zealand themed series. (Open edition print)

Mapua is a small town found west of Nelson on the coastline of Tasman bay.  For nearly 20 years the town had a resident Heron (Kotuku) called Hamish.  The locals were so fond of Hamish they immortalised him in statue.  I’ve paid homage to Hamish in this piece and consider him to be the guardian of our bay.
